When searching for a fun and easy way to vacation, you may want to consider a cruise. With cruising, you are able to travel to several different destinations, enjoy delicious dining that is included with your fare, experience onboard and onshore activities, and come back to the same bed each and every night, all with minimal planning involved. In fact, one of the biggest decisions you will need to make when planning a cruise is what to pack.
Deciding what you need to pack for your cruise vacation is typically base off of where in the world you are traveling to, the climate of the region, and the activities you plan to partake in. But there are also a few extra items we always recommend our guests include on their packing list, to help make the time onboard even better. Here are 5 must-bring items you should consider packing for your next cruise vacation:
1.) EUROPEAN TRAVEL PLUG ADAPTER
One of the things you may not think about if you are not sailing in Europe is bringing a European travel plug that adapts for US plugs. Most cruise lines have both US and European outlets in the rooms, and being able to utilize all the plugs in the space is a game changer.
2.) WRINKLE RELEASE SPRAY
Safety is the top priority for all cruise companies, and there is a list of seemingly normal items that are not allowed on the ship due to safety concerns. The list of items includes irons, as well as travel steamers. This certainly makes getting the wrinkles out of your clothes a bit tougher, and if you don't want to utilize the expensive onboard pressing services, you should consider a wrinkle release spray.
3.) REUSABLE WATER BOTTLE
Bringing your own water bottle is highly recommended for a cruise, as on most contemporary cruise lines water bottles come at an additional cost. Water from the buffet and at drink stations around the ship is free, but if you do not have your own bottle, you will only be able to utilize the provided glasses. Being able to fill up your own bottle before head out on an active shore excursion on a hot day is a game-changer, so don't forget your water bottle at home!
4.) WATERPROOF SANDALS / POOL SHOES
For a good beach vacation, you need a good pair of waterproof sandals. Having flip flops or sandals that you can walk along the beach, or the cruise ship pool deck is a game changer for your comfort while on vacation.
5.) MOTION SICKNESS PATCHES
For peace of mind, always remember to bring motion sickness patches on your cruise. While most guests won't have an issue due to the size of the ship, it's a great idea to bring them if you are planning a shore excursion like whale watching or a catamaran sail.
