Celebrity Cruises has just announced the order of a 6th Edge Series ship, set to be delivered in 2028. Royal Caribbean Group signed an agreement with Chantiers de l'Atlantique to build what will be the sister ship to Celebrity Xcel, which makes her grand debut later this year.

Each ship in this award-winning series has set a new standard for the industry, and Celebrity Xcel, sailing later this year, is no exception. Partnering with Chantiers de l’Atlantique to expand the Edge Series with Edge 6 is another milestone in our mission to deliver the world’s best vacations responsibly.”
Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises said of the new order: “Celebrity Xcel will be the happy place of vacationers globally when she launches in November and we’re thrilled to be making this commitment to bring her a sister ship in Edge 6. Celebrity Xcel will take forward the best of Edge Series ships coupled with seven new experiences, all perfected with the help of our recently announced Xcel Dream Makers – an industry first program enlisting the power of cruisers to make final decisions across culinary, interior design and entertainment.”
The Edge Series ships have made waves in the industry for the elegant and innovative designs choices found onboard. Guests can stroll through the beautiful garden at the very top of the ship, full of lush flora that creates a relaxing ambience at the Rooftop Garden Grill. The Magic Carpet, suspended off the side of the ship and moving between floors, allows guests to enjoy an al fresco lunch on deck 5 in the afternoon, and sip cocktails on deck 14 in the evening. No matter where you turn onboard a Celebrity Edge Series ship, your breath will be taken away at the exquisite artistry and architecture.
