Just today Celebrity announced the new name of its upcoming Edge Class ship - Celebrity Xcel. She is a combination of everything we love about the Edge Class, and with her new yet-to-be-announced experiences, she is certain to "Xcel" beyond her sister ships to create an incredible cruise! While many details are being kept a secret, here's what we know so far:

Xcel is currently open for booking right this moment, with sailings available for the 2025-2026 season. She is set to begin 7-night cruises to the Bahamas, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas starting in November 2025.

Her future cruise destinations include Europe, Asia, Australia, Bermuda, Canada, New England, and South America to name a few. Xcel will be going to more counties than ever before, including some destinations Celebrity has not yet been to!

Changes and Upgrades

She will be the 5th and final ship in the Edge Class series, and a fitting end at that! With expanded and even better favorite venues such as the Rooftop Garden, and Daniel Boulud fine dining restaurant, there is no doubt that Xcel will surpass all ships in her class and give us the finale we were expecting.

The Rooftop Garden will have even more space for better ocean vistas, and the change will include an expansion over the side of the ship!

The Grand Plaza will look a bit different from previous ships, as the design on Xcel was created to bring in even more natural light and air to the centralized indoor space. We think this will be a beautiful addition to the ship, creating an even more open area that will attract cruise guests throughout the day.

Returning Favorites

Celebrity has promised many favorites from the Edge Class ships that will be combined onto one vessel with Xcel. While many venues are still being kept under wraps and will be announced in the coming weeks, we do know a few spaces that will be making their return, including the Magic Carpet and Sunset Bar. The Magic Carpet is a luxurious dining venue suspended off the side of the ship, an incredible concept that Celebrity fans have fallen in love with. The Sunset bar on Xcel will be multi-level and multi-terraced; a beautiful space for relaxing with a good drink and watching the sun slip below the horizon.

The Retreat will of course be on Xcel, and will continue the "Resort within a Resort" trend that Celebrity has given us on previous ships. With the Retreat, Celebrity promises a modern and relaxing private space, a respite for suite guests during a busy cruise. Within the Retreat are a range of luxury accommodations from the Iconic Suite, to Penthouses, to the 2-story Edge Villa, and more. The Retreat offers a range of perks and amenities for Retreat guests and Retreat guests only, truly solidifying it as one of the most exclusive suite spaces at sea!

Future Announcements

Celebrity has promised us a plethora of future announcements about Xcel, including deck plans, venues, new experiences, and so much more! We are greatly looking forward to hearing more about this beautiful ship, and will share more information as it is released. But one thing is for sure, even with the few details we have right now, Xcel is gearing up to be the best Edge Class ship in the fleet!
