With the amount of things to do on the island, planning your day can be a bit overwhelming, so we are breaking down the full itinerary you should consider for your next trip to CocoCay.
HOUR 1: CABANA RENTAL
Renting a cabana on the island is a great way to elevate your day. You will have the cabana for the entirety of your time on the island, making them a great home base. Each cabana comes with an attendant, outlets for charging, comfortable seating, coolers, bottled water, and many other amenities. Once you disembark the ship in the morning, you should head straight to your cabana checkin and get settled. There are cabana rentals throughout the island, so you should consider where on the island you want to spend time when choosing a cabana. Settle your things, sit back, relax, and enjoy the waves crashing on the beach.
ALTERNATIVE: HIDEAWAY BEACH
For adults, consider booking your cabana at Hideaway Beach- CocoCay's new adults-only section of the island. Here you will find a lagoon to swim in, incredible bars, a Snack Shack, live music, a giant fresh-water swimming pool, and so much more. This is the party space on the island, so if you are looking for energetic vibes mixed with relaxation, this is the spot for you.
ALTERNATIVE: COCO BEACH CLUB
If you prefer a more relaxed space that is secluded from the rest of the island, and allows children, consider the Coco Beach Club. Here you can rent a tradition cabana or over-the-water cabana, and have access to a beautiful beach, an included restaurant with elevated menu options, a relaxing pool, and relaxing lounge spaces. This is a great spot to make your home base for the day, and will truly upgrade your island experience.
HOUR 2-3: THRILL WATERPARK
Purchasing a pass for Thrill Waterpark is the perfect way to beat the island heat, and have a whole lot of fun doing it! There are 14 thrill-inducing waterslides, including the 135' Devil's Peak- the tallest waterslide in North America. Spend a few hours with your friends and family at Thrill and have the time of your life. Your pass can be purchased ahead of your cruise, and can be used all day long, so you can keep coming back throughout the day to enjoy even more thrills.
HOUR 4: LUNCH & CHILL
Grab a bite to eat at Skipper's Grill, or any of the Snack Shacks on the island. The Snack Shack is a complimentary food stand that has many locations peppered throughout the beaches, and offers delicious options such as chicken sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, fries, and more! Take your food back to your cabana and enjoy time relaxing, and maybe catch a quick nap. If you prefer the buffet-style dining, Skipper's Grill sits in the middle of the island and has many traditional buffet-style options.
HOUR 5: UP, UP, AND AWAY HELIUM BALLOON
One of the first things that comes to mind when you think of CocoCay, is the incredible CocoCay helium balloon rising up over the island. The Up, Up, and Away Balloon is an excursion you can book beforehand, and is the perfect activity for the whole family. You will be taken 450 feet above the island for the most incredible 360 degree views of the Bahamas. See the neighboring Berry Islands, the turquoise blue waters, and of course get a birds-eye view of CocoCay!
HOUR 6: WATER SPORTS
There are plenty of water sports to enjoy on CocoCay including wave-runners, kayaking, snorkeling, and even floating mat rentals. You can book these activities ahead of time, and they are a great way to get out on the water and cool off, or see the beautiful reef and fish along the shoreline.
HOUR 7: OASIS LAGOON
CocoCay is also home to the largest fresh-water pool in North America. The Oasis Lagoon is a beautiful space with quiet inlets, a swim-up bar, and relaxing loungers all around. This is a great option for guests who prefer fresh-water over salt. Pop on over to Captain Jack's for a drink and a bite to eat if you get a little peckish.
HOUR 7-8: RELAXATION
Take the last couple of hours to soak in the time you have in your Cabana. Grab a snack from the Snack Shack and enjoy relaxing in the sun as you listen to the waves lapping at the shoreline, and feel the fresh sea breeze against your skin. Take a dip in the water to cool off, or read a book as you relax in the extra-comfy loungers. Some of the areas such as Breezy Bay have beach sports such as volleyball, basketball, and ping pong; so you can stay active if that is your relaxation style. Give yourself some time to pack up your belongings and head back to the ship. There are shuttles that run through the island, so if you are further away you can take the shuttle right back to the pier.
