After the release of Icon of the Seas to tremendous success, Royal Caribbean will be introducing their 2nd Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas, in August 2025. She and her sister ship, Icon, will be the two biggest cruise ships ever built upon her christening, and will be offering guests next level wows, non-stop chills, and larger than life thrills.

Star and Icon are virtually identical. On both, guests can enjoy over 40+ food and drink venues, a full 6-slide waterpark, a whole neighborhood dedicated to family fun, adults' only chill areas, endless views, and so much more! These ships are cities on the water, sleeping over 7,000 passengers comfortably, and offering endless activities and entertainment.

ICON VS. STAR: THE DIFFERENCES

At Harr Travel, we have had the pleasure of cruising on Icon of the Seas on several occasions, and upon inspection of the deck plans, Star of the Seas is a virtual carbon copy. However, there are a few small tweaks and changes that we know our guests will be excited about!

ENGLISH PUB | With Star, Royal Caribbean continues the tradition of having an English Pub onboard their ships on the Royal Promenade. Royal hasn't yet revealed the name of the pub on Star of the Seas, but we know guests will be able to find the same delicious pub fare and pints they have grown accustomed to while onboard.

NEW DINING | While still under wraps, on Star it looks as though a dining venue will be on Deck 6 in the same location at "The Attic" on Icon. We aren't yet sure if this dining venue will be an all-new concept or beloved favorite...or possibly a more food-focused comedy-style club...but knowing Royal, it will be some of the best food at sea!

SUPPER CLUB | On Icon, Royal debuted a brand new dining concept called "The Empire Supper Club"- an elevated dining space with limited seating and a cocktail-paired multi-course menu themed around a 1920's NYC jazz club. The same concept will be brought back on Star of the Seas, but with a vintage Chicago theme. and called the "Lincoln Park Supper Club". Guests will be able to enjoy a delicious meal while listening to live music...always the perfect spot for a romantic date night with your partner!

We cannot wait to see what else Royal Caribbean has up their sleeve for guests on Star of the Seas, and we will keep you informed of any additional information as it is released in the week and months leading up to the inaugural.
