Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has just announced an order of eight new ships across NCL, Oceania, and Regent Seven Seas. There will be an additional 25,000 berths as well as new classes of ship represented in this order, and the ships will be delivered over a ten year period between 2026 and 2036.

In a statement, Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. said: "This strategic new-ship order across all three of our award-winning brands provides for the steady introduction of cutting-edge vessels into our fleet and solidifies our long-term growth. It also allows us to significantly leverage our operating scale, strengthen our commitment to innovation and enhance our ability to offer our guests new products and experiences, all while providing opportunities to enhance the efficiency of our fleet."

Norwegian Cruise Line

After the success of their Prima Class ships, and their upcoming Norwegian Aqua in 2025, Norwegian Cruise Line is set to take delivery of four 200,000 gross ton in 2030, 2032, 2034, and 2036. These ships will have the capacity for up to 5,000 passengers, and are subject to financing. These will be their largest ships to date- larger than the Breakaway, and Breakaway-Plus Classes.

Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises will be taking delivery of two new ships, the first in 2027, and the second in 2029. These ships will be 86,000 gross tons, and will have a capacity of 1,450 passengers. These ships will be the largest in the Oceania fleet, and hold roughly 200 passengers more than the Oceania Class ships.

Regent Seven Seas

Similar to Oceania, Regent Seven Seas will be taking delivery of two new ships in 2026, and 2029. These ships will have the capacity to hold 850 passengers, and will weigh in at 77,000 gross registered tons. These ships will be the largest in the fleet, at 20,000 more tons than Grandeur and Splendor.

This is one of the biggest ship orders in Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings history, and is paving the way for the next generation of cruise vessels. We are excited to see what is coming next, and will update with any new information as we receive it.
