Renowned premium cruise line, Princess Cruises, has just announced the launch of the MedallionNet Max, a new level of Wi-Fi service that will meet the digital needs of passengers while onboard. According to Princess, there will now be two tiers of Wi-Fi service offered, the MedallionNet Classic, which guests have utilized in recent years; and now the MedallionNet Max, with access to the highest performance bandwidth available.

We have always been impressed by Princess's integrated technology, especially with the introduction of their Ocean Medallion a few years ago. The Ocean Medallion, which links to the ship's onboard Wi-Fi, gives guests a seamless experience while onboard. Each passenger is issued a Medallion card with an RFID chip that is connected with their profile. Through the ship's app, guests can set their preferences, make dining reservations, order room service, and so much more. They can then utilize their Ocean Medallion throughout the ship to check their dining times, see where other family members are, open their cabin door, etc. The crew will have easy access to these preferences as you approach them, so they can see your name, dietary restrictions, mobility needs, reservations, and even your favorite drinks. This truly elevates the level of service, so the staff can greet you by name, and know what you want even before you ask for it.

With the new MedallionNet Max, guests will have the maximum connectivity. This MedallionNet Max is typically powered by Starlink, and will be exclusively available with the Princess Plus and Princess Premier packages that Princess offers. The goal of the MedallionNet Max is to provide passengers with the best experience and value possible, offering the highest performing bandwidth available anywhere in the world. The MedallionNet Classic will continue to offer the same service performance, reliability, and global coverage that guests have always enjoyed, and the pricing for the MedallionNet Classic will remain at $24.99 per day for a single-device, and $44.99 for the multi-device plan.

John Padgett, president of Princess Cruises said in a statement about the new release: “Just like we did when we launched MedallionNet Classic almost seven years ago, Princess continues to ensure guests have access to the highest performing connectivity available at industry-leading value. By including MedallionNet Max in our incredible bundles we are guaranteeing the best possible onboard experience with the best value anywhere in the world as our guests explore over 330 destinations via our world-class globally deployed fleet.”

To showcase their new Wi-Fi tier, Princess will be hosting the first every land/sea UGC competition, leveraging a custom Minecraft world- Princess Cruises Nautical Quest. They will be inviting 32 of the most popular IGC players from around the world to compete, playing aboard the Enchanted Princess with millions of fans watching on August 7th in the Caribbean.
