But one of the most stand-out spaces onboard is without a doubt Thrill Island. It's hard to miss the full waterpark at the very top aft, or the terrifying ropes course dangling over the side of the ship. These are just two of the many adrenaline-pumping activities that this new neighborhood has to offer. Thrill Island is filled with a range of fun things to do that are perfect for the whole family, and will ensure you never get bored while on your cruise vacation.
Thrill Island Venues
Located on Deck 16, Thrill island offers a wide range of chill and action packed activities. Here is a closer look at all the venues in this neighborhood:
CATEGORY 6 WATER PARK | The star of the show is undoubtedly Category 6- the largest waterpark on a cruise ship! There are 6 fear-inducing waterslides, including 2 raft slides, 2 racing slides, the first open freefall water slide at sea, and the tallest drop water slide at sea! The best part is that the entire waterpark is included, no reservations required, and the slides are as good if not better than most waterslides you will find on land! Category 6 is so impressive, it truly feels like an extension of the amazing Thrill Waterpark on Perfect Day at CocoCay.
CROWN'S EDGE | This brand new activity was introduced on Icon, and will get your heart racing. This is a ropes course/zipline combo where you are strapped in and will walk across bridges and over platforms, out and around the side of the ship. The final platform will have you looking down at the water 16 decks below, before it drops out from under you, and a zipline carries you back to solid ground. This activity is not for the faint of heart, and should always be reserved ahead of time as it books up quickly.
FLOWRIDER | Try your hand at a little surfing with this Royal Caribbean classic venue. The FlowRider surf simulator allows guests to surf or bodyboard all throughout the day in a controlled environment.
ADRENALINE PEAK | This is the rock climbing wall onboard. Royal has had climbing walls on many of their ships in the past, but nothing will beat the incredible views from 16 decks above the water!
LOST DUNES | For a less heart-pumping activity, grab a putter and enjoy a round of mini golf with your friends on Icon's desert island themed course.
BASECAMP & BASECAMP BAR | For a quick-bite on Thrill Island, Basecamp is the spot. Here guests can enjoy complimentary snacks, as well as upgraded menu items such as cheese curds, pretzel bites, and waffle chicken for an additional charge. Adjacent is the Basecamp Bar, the perfect stop for a quick cocktail or mocktail. In addition you will find the Basecamp Bar Cart in the waterpark, so you don't have to walk far to grab a refreshing drink.
DESSERTED MILKSHAKE BAR | For a sweet treat, Desserted Milkshake Bar offers fun and funky milkshakes with delicious flavors and over-the-top toppings.
SPORTS COURT | The sports court is located just above Basecamp on Deck 17, with views overlooking all of Thrill Island. Here guests can enjoy a game of basketball, have a little pickleball tournament, as well as other fun sports throughout the day.
